An alarm app for Android only has to do two things: ring on time and make waking up less of a chore. AlarmiFex puts the second part first. You choose a sound for the morning you want, or bring one of your own, and it is set up as an exact system alarm so it can ring with the app closed. Install it from Google Play at the top of this page.
What AlarmiFex does on Android
Everything below is in the Android app today. Nothing here is borrowed from the iPhone version.
- A sound library by mood. 34 sounds in five moods: Calm, Energetic, Motivational, Classic and Anime. Preview any of them before you choose.
- Your own sounds. Pick an audio or video clip from your phone, trim it, name it, and it appears in My Sounds. You can rename it, change its cover, re-trim it or delete it later.
- Reel and video link import. Share a link as text to AlarmiFex and the app pulls the sound for you to trim.
- Wake-up Series. Set a window and at least two different sounds, and they play across it.
- Sounds that work offline. Download a sound once and it plays from your phone with no connection.
An Android alarm clock app built to ring on time
AlarmiFex schedules each alarm with Android's alarm clock mechanism, the same exact alarm tools that the Android developer documentation on alarms describes for apps whose core job is a precisely timed alarm. When the time comes, a foreground service plays the sound and shows a full-screen alarm, even if the app was closed or the phone was locked.
The app also re-arms your alarms after a restart, an app update, or a change of time or time zone, so a reboot does not quietly drop them. During setup it asks for the alarm and notification access it needs. If you decline, Android cannot deliver alarms reliably, so allow both.
Sound plays through Android's alarm audio stream rather than the ringer or media volume, which is why a silent ringer does not mute it. It does follow your alarm volume, so check that before bed. Every alarm has repeat days and a label, and snooze defaults to nine minutes, up to three times.
No app can promise you will wake up, and we will not pretend otherwise. Run a test alarm after setup, keep the alarm volume up, and exclude AlarmiFex from any aggressive battery saver your phone maker adds. Having trouble with a different app? A free-to-download alarm clock app for Android
AlarmiFex is free to download from Google Play, and you can browse and preview the library right away. Premium sounds and custom sounds need a subscription, and the app shows the current terms before you commit to anything. You can manage a subscription from Google Play.
If your phone's own clock app is enough, keep using it. It is a solid, free choice. AlarmiFex is for the moment you want more variety by mood, your own clip, or several sounds in one morning. Our comparison of a mood alarm and the stock phone clock lays out where each one fits.
Set your own alarm sound on Android
- Open the Sounds tab and tap the plus button.
- Pick a clip from your phone: audio, or the audio of a video.
- Trim it by dragging the two handles to the part you want, then add a title.
- Use it on any alarm from My Sounds.
Loved a sound in a reel? Share the link as text to AlarmiFex, wait while the app pulls the sound, then trim it the same way. Some links cannot be turned into a sound; the app tells you, and you can ask to be notified when one is ready. See video and reel to alarm and custom alarm sounds for the details. Keep mornings from going stale
The same tone every day fades into background noise. Switch moods when an alarm stops working on you, or use Wake-up Series: pick a window of up to two hours and at least two sounds, and AlarmiFex lays them out on a timeline so each step sounds different. Browse the sound library by mood or the full alarm sounds list to find your first pick. Heavy sleeper? Start with alarms for heavy sleepers.
On iPhone? AlarmiFex is there too, and uses Apple's AlarmKit for alarms. See AlarmiFex for iPhone.
Questions about the Android alarm app
It depends on what you want from your morning. AlarmiFex is for people who care about the sound: a library by mood, your own trimmed clips, reel import and Wake-up Series. If you only need a plain tone, the clock app on your phone already does that.
It is a free download from Google Play. Premium sounds and custom sounds need a subscription; current terms are shown in the app.
AlarmiFex plays through Android's alarm audio stream, which is separate from ringer and media volume. It plays at your device's alarm volume, so keep that turned up and run a test alarm before you rely on it.
Yes, once a sound is downloaded. It is saved on your phone and plays from that file. Browsing the library, previewing new sounds and importing a reel link do need a connection.
You can import an audio or video clip from your phone, trim it to the part you want and give it a title. The app does not record audio itself, so bring in a voice memo you already made.
The idea is the same. Apple-only features such as AlarmKit, the Dynamic Island and Siri belong to iPhone. On Android, alarms use Android's own exact alarm system instead.
