Who calm alarm sounds suit
Light sleepers and anyone who dreads a jolt
If a sudden beep makes your heart race, a melody, flute or birdsong gives you a softer landing.
People with a slow-start routine
Stretching, tea or a few quiet minutes before the day begins? A calm sound matches that pace.
Anyone sharing a room
Softer sounds are easier on a partner or flatmate who does not need to be up yet. Volume still matters, so set it per alarm.
Weekend and day-off mornings
Keep a stronger sound for work days and switch to a calm one when there is no rush.
When to pick a calm sound
- You already wake up fairly easily and want a nicer first sound, not a louder one.
- You want nature sounds (birdsong, flowing water) or a melody instead of a spoken voice.
- You are rotating away from a tone your brain has started to ignore.
- You want a short sound (11 to 15 seconds) or a longer one (up to 53 seconds) and want to pick by length.
A gentle sound is not always the right tool. If you tend to sleep through alarms, see AlarmiFex for heavy sleepers, and Wake-up Series lets you start with a calm sound and follow it with a different one a few minutes later.
How to set a calm alarm sound in AlarmiFex
- Open a new alarm. Tap to add an alarm and set the time and repeat days.
- Tap Alarm Sound. This opens the Choose Sound screen, where you can browse by mood and pick Calm.
- Preview, then choose. Play a sound to hear it, pick the one you like and tap Done.
- Save the alarm. Set the volume to taste and tap Save. Download the sound first if you want it saved on your phone.
These steps follow the iPhone app. On iPhone, alarms ring on silent and in Focus once you allow alarms. Always set a test alarm a few minutes ahead before you rely on a new setup. Want your own soft sound instead? See custom alarm sounds, or learn how the library works in sound library by mood.

Calm is one of five moods. When a gentle sound stops working, switch to Energetic, Motivational, Classic or Anime, or see everything on the alarm sounds page.
