To use a TikTok sound as your alarm, you need the sound as audio on your phone, because the Clock app only lists tones and music you already have. The quick way is to share the TikTok link to AlarmiFex, trim the audio to the best part and set it on an alarm. We make AlarmiFex, so we show the built-in route first and tell you where it falls short.

Can you use a TikTok sound as your alarm?

Yes, but not in one tap. A TikTok sound lives inside a video on TikTok's servers. Your alarm needs a sound that is stored on your phone, so there is a middle step: turning that sound into a small audio clip. That step is what every method on this page is about.

There are two honest routes. You can stay with what your phone ships with, which is free and simple but limited. Or you can use an app that takes the link, pulls the audio and keeps it as a saved sound. If you are only after a different tone, our guide to ways to change your alarm sound compares the options side by side.

What can the built-in Clock app do?

On iPhone, Apple's guide to setting and changing alarms says to open the Clock app, tap the Alarms tab, open an alarm and tap Sound to pick what plays. The list holds Apple's tones and the tones you have bought or added, as explained on Apple's page on tones and ringtones. A TikTok sound is not in that list.

Android works much the same way: the Clock app offers a sound picker with the sounds on your device. The exact screen differs by brand, so our guide to changing the alarm sound on Android and Samsung walks through it.

  • Pros: free, no extra app, and Apple says the Clock alarm still sounds in Silent mode and Do Not Disturb.
  • Cons: you need the TikTok audio as a file first, and getting it into the tone list takes extra steps outside the Clock app.

How do you make a TikTok sound your alarm with AlarmiFex?

This is how to make a TikTok sound your alarm in four steps. AlarmiFex is free to download, and saving a custom sound needs a subscription, shown in the app.

  1. Find the TikTok. Open the video that has the sound you want to wake up to.
  2. Share the link to AlarmiFex. Tap Share and choose AlarmiFex. On iPhone it appears in the share sheet and opens the app. On Android, share the link as text to AlarmiFex.
  3. Trim and name it. AlarmiFex pulls the audio and opens a trim screen. Drag the handles to keep the part you want, up to 1:00, and give it a title.
  4. Set it on an alarm. Choose the time, repeat days, label and volume like any other alarm.

The finished sound is saved on your phone, so it plays from a file with no connection needed. It also stays in My Sounds, where you can rename it, trim it again or delete it. The full feature is described on the video to alarm page.

How do you pick the best part of the sound?

A TikTok sound is often a few seconds of a bigger track, and the best bit is rarely the first note. Wake up to the hook, not the intro. Here are a few things that help:

  • Start the clip a beat before the part you love, so it does not begin mid-word.
  • Prefer sounds that build. A punchy first second is jarring when you are half asleep.
  • Keep it short enough to repeat. A 10 to 20 second clip that you like is better than a full minute you skip.
  • Preview the trim before you save it, then listen to it once at the volume you plan to use.

The same trick keeps a favorite from going stale. A sound you hear every morning stops registering, a habit explained in why your brain stops hearing the same alarm. Save a few TikTok sounds and swap them, or add a calm or energetic one from the mood-based sound library.

Will a TikTok alarm ring on silent?

It depends on the app that rings it. The iPhone Clock alarm sounds on silent, per Apple. On iPhone, AlarmiFex uses Apple AlarmKit, so once you allow alarms it rings with the app closed, the phone locked, on silent or in Focus, at your device's ringer volume. Read more on the rings on silent page. AlarmKit is iPhone only; on Android, test your own setup.

What if the link does not work?

Not every link can become a sound. Private posts, age-restricted posts and posts with no audio cannot be turned into a clip. If a link fails, AlarmiFex says so, and you can try again or share another link. A bad connection can also cause a failure, so try once more on a stable network. If you already have an audio or video file on your phone, you can import it instead, as described in custom alarm sounds.

Prefer YouTube? The steps are the same. See how to use a YouTube video as an alarm.

Is it okay to use a TikTok sound this way?

Sounds in videos belong to their creators and rights holders. AlarmiFex is meant for your own alarm on your own phone. Sounds you save stay on your device and are never published. Do not repost, sell or share them. Each service sets its own rules, so read the TikTok Terms of Service, and for the general US picture see the U.S. Copyright Office page on fair use.
